As of today (March 18) TaxSlayer DOES NOT have HI-144 Line J correct when there is a rollover and the same taxpayer also has additional taxable 1099-R income. TaxSlayer does not report the Rollover amount on Line J (correct) BUT if the same taxpayer who had the rollover also has additional taxable 1099-R income, TS also reduces that amount by the amount of the rollover ('double dipping').
Not all of TaxSlayer's improvements are in the forward direction. We only discovered this error because our taxpayer had already worked out (correctly) his VT return and his and our HI-144s did not agree.

Since TaxSlayer does not provide a way to sort returns by date in the Office Client List, I now do a reverse sort (Z -> A) of the list on the Status column (click once to get the A => Z sort, click a second time to reverse it). This puts the Accepted returns at the end of the list and leaves mostly active returns at the beginning of the list where they can be reviewed (and counted) before e-filing.
TaxSlayer initially did not provide a way to include SSI and VA benefits on line B of the HI-144. They have now added an input field to do this. ALAS, the values entered here are transferred to line O (second page) and are subtracted from the VT income!.
Work around: Enter SSI and VA benefits as Public Assistance (line A) so that it will be added to the household income. If you mistakenly answer Yes to the question "Are you going to file a property tax adjustment later?" TaxSlayer will still accept input for Part B (Housesite value, Taxes, etc) but they will not be transmitted with the return. If you look at the HS-122 in the PDF, those fields will be blank and, if the TP does not file a PTA claim later, they will get no state payment. Therefore, check the answer to this question carefully.
